I've got a menu button with three states - normal, hover and visited.
Once the button has been selected, the visited state is adopted, if you hover over it again the colour of the text on the hover state is the one from the visited state.
Welcome to eLearning Heroes, Liz! Happy to help investigate. 🙂
Do you see this problem when previewing the project, in the published output, or both?
With your permission, I'd also like to test your .story file in a similar environment to see what's happening. If that works for you, you can share the file publicly in the forums here, or privately by using this upload link. I'll try to replicate the behavior, and will delete it once we nail down the culprit!
Hi Katie - I'm not sure if the original poster got back to you, but I'm experiencing a similar issue. I have a shape with some text in a text box. When I edit the states and add a picture on the hover state, the text from the 'normal' state stays visible. It sometimes functions normally (meaning the text on the normal shape is hidden when I hover) when I test the states in development and sometimes it doesn't, but regardless when I preview the slide I'm seeing the issue. I'm happy to share an example, just let me know where to save it.
Hi there, Jackie! The built-in Hover state will include whatever is in the Normal state, plus anything you've added or changed in the Hover state. A custom state that you trigger might work better for you since you don't want the Normal state text to appear. Check out my 2 1/2 minute Peek showing what I mean.
Thanks Crystal! I'll check out your Peek and play around with custom states to see what I can do. I ended up creating layers, which seem to be working the way I wanted states to work, so worst case I have a work-around :)

Does that help?
