Text to pop up after learner types in their text.

Jun 22, 2015

Please see the attached slide.  I would like the last three text boxes to show up AFTER the learner has typed in their answer in the text box.  What is the best way to get this accomplished?

I would have those text boxes set to their "Hidden" State when the timeline starts. Then set triggers to change them to "Normal" when the text entry loses focus (If the Text entry values does not equal BLANK). That way they only appear after the learner has entered something.

I'm not sure about the SUBMIT or NEXT button, i think it depends on where you want the learner to go after they complete this exercise.

I attached your file with my changes. I hope this helps!

Hi Kendra,

You would need to have the text boxes set up as their initial state as Hidden. Then the triggers to change them to normal would work. Also, on text box 4, you were referencing the wrong text entry. For the first slide, it is textentry4.

See attached file for reference.

Let us know if you need anything further.

Hello Kendra,

I am not sure I understand, the file above is set to show the text boxes when the control loses focus. Which it does. They type their text, then clicking outside the text entry box will show the text boxes. After that they can hit Next. You may need to disable the next button until the text boxes are normal. Not sure if that will fit with your design.
