Text-to-Speech Issue
Mar 27, 2018
I'm wondering how the Insert -> Audio -> Text-to-Speech works in the background.
After our IT folks did some network maintenance this weekend Text-to-Speech seems to not work anymore. Myself and a few other staff are all getting the message "You are offline. Please connect to the internet and try again." when we try to use that feature.
Given some other issues we've seen since this maintenance was completed, I'm wondering if when I am engaging the Text-to-Speech function it tries to initiate contact with some other site/online service (that creates the audio) that our IT folks may now be blocking. It seems to fail with the "You're offline" message either instantly or at some point during the audio creation.
Any ideas/info would be much appreciated

Hi Helene! I would start with sharing this article about our network endpoints with your IT folks. If they can confirm that those ports and sites are allowed, and you're still having issues, please let me know.
Thanks so much for that link.. i have shared it with my IT folks and they are on the case!
Thanks for letting us know, Helene – and let us know if they have any questions along the way! ☺️
I'm having this same issue, and when I click Crystal's link above, I get a "server not found" error message.
Problem was on my end - something up with my VPN. Cheers!
Cheers indeed, Ed! Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
