Text to speech unable to read learner's name

Hello, everyone

I am currently working on a project, and I created a variable so that the learner can input his/her name for a more personalized and engaging course.

I also used text to speech all through the course, however, text to speech is not able to read the learner's name. It reads as "%Name%".

Does anyone know how I may use text to speech to read out learner's name?

I'd be looking forward to feedbacks.

Hi Wale, 

The text to speech feature of Storyline (outlined here) allows for you to easily convert on-screen text to narration within your project. It's not a live reading of what's on the screen for learners, so it can't read out variable values. If you have it reading that section, you could look at inserting a pause where the name might be so that the learner doesn't hear "Percent Symbol Name Percent Symbol".
