Text variable in hyperlink

Hi,
Hyperlinks don't seem to work when there is a text variable in it. Is this a bug or intentional?
I want specific things to trigger when learners click a particular sentence in a text. And I have a lot of these excercises, so I want to re-use the slides I made, with different texts. All I would have to do (if I could get the hyperlinks to work) is store each sentence in a text variable.
Using hotspots is not a great option for this, it is very time consuming.
I appreciate any help!

Did you ever get a response to this? I have the same issue where I'm trying to place a hyperlink on a variable
Hi Garfield,
Unfortunately, there is no way to make it work. I submitted a ticket for it, but tech support says it's simply not a feature.

Ok thanks.
Hi Garfield and Ayoub,
That information is detailed in this support article:
Hyperlinks on variable references aren't currently supported in Articulate Storyline.
If you'd like to see this feature included in a future update, let us know by submitting a feature request.
I had this working on one project, but now it doesn't work on a similar project.
Hi David!
We're happy to walk through this with you! I've created a sample course on my end hyperlinking a variable. It's working as expected on my end. Here's the link.
Let me know if you're seeing something different on your end!
