Text variable still pulls text from previous, although invisible

Jul 31, 2020

Hi,

One of my reviewers found even the text input area is reset, the old answer is actually still there. Just in another colour so it won't show. But if you highlight the area, you can still see it. I have set the slide property to reset to initial state and also adjust the text variable to value blank when timeline starts on this slide. Still, the previous answers are pulled over as invisible.

Has anyone come across this before? Is there any way to get rid of this?

Thank you!

Hi Anya,

I came across this for the first time when someone else raised the issue just over a week ago:

https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/text-entry-still-has-hidden-selectable-text-after-setting-the-corresponding-variable-to-blank#reply-690826

I suggested that it was probably a bug and so the person concerned has now officially raised it with Articulate staff who are looking into it.

Hello Anya and Ned,

Great news!  We just released another update for Articulate 360 and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here

The item you'll be interested in is:

Fixed: Resetting a text-entry variable so it had no value didn't actually clear the text-entry field

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.
