TextEntry box character limit inconsistency
Jan 09, 2015
Hello,
Currently I am working on a project in which I have a TextEntry Box.
The response I am looking for from the student is not a specific one. They will be able to compare their response to the appropriate response on the following slide. Due to an unspecific response, the types of answers I would receive could be hundreds of characters.
As a result, I placed the TextEntry box inside of a scroll in order to give the student enough room to type the appropriate response. When I am testing the amount of characters I can type in the editing mode of Storyline 2, I am not bound by a specific amount of characters. However, when I preview or publish the project my ability to type in that TextEntry is limited to 256 characters.
Seeing as this is an inconsistency, I am unsure why I would be limited in the preview and publish modes of storyline but not the editing mode.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue? And if so, how do I increase the character limit?
Attached is the project:
Slides 1.5 and 1.6

Hello Andrew!
You could use an Essay style question instead of a text entry. This would allow you to set the character count up to 5000 characters.
Thanks Emily!
Glad to help Andrew!
How did you do the full animation video.
Hi Rashed! Not sure if Andrew is still subscribed to this thread, but you are welcome to reach out to him directly via the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile if you wish.
Hi Rashed,
Just realized you sent me an email. I did the actual animation in Adobe After Effects and imported the finished video file into storyline.
Thank you
Can you send me APA lesson you did?
Thanks for helping out Rashed here Andrew :)
