The key order issue when publish to html5

Apr 20, 2018

I have two issues when publish my project to html5. I am using Storyline 3, testing through SCORM Cloud with browser IE and Google Chrome.

1. We have question bank with multiple choice/answer questions. When using tab key (508 testing) to tab through the distracters, my multiple choice/answer questions with answers shuffled are not in correct order. The key jump among the distracters. It might be in the original design order (before shuffled)

2. My project is forced progression. When all lessons completed, I exited from the main menu. The LMS marked "Completed". However, when I launched back with "resume where I left", the main menu shown some uncompleted lessons.

I published the project to flash version, and there is no problem when testing through SCORM Cloud with IE.

Our SCORM Cloud won't allow install flash player, so, there is no test result for flash version with Google Chrome.

If upload the flash version to a web server (not in LMS), there is no problem when review it with Google Chrome.

My conclusions: Storyline project with html5 outputs have the issue 1 and 2.

Has any body encountered such issues? Does Storyline support have suggestions?

Thank you.

Hi Wenqing,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us about the trouble you're having.

Our team is currently looking closer at the first issue you mentioned, where the tab order for shuffled answer choices is not working correctly. I'll be sure to keep you posted on our progress with that bug.

The second issue you mentioned is not one I've seen before, so I'd like to get a little more information from you.

  • Are you on the latest update of Storyline 3? To check, click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see 3.3.15007.0 in the bottom-right corner.
  • What resume setting are you using?

Hello Wenqing,

We released another update today for Storyline 3 (Build 3.10.22406.0).

We fixed several accessibility issues, including when shuffling answers caused tab order of answer choices to behave erratically.

You can read all the details in the article below and grab the latest version here.
