I have seen several discussions on this topic but I think none of them apply to my issue.
I have several Storyline files where all links used to work perfectly and now I am trying and none of them work (I have tried different browsers). It looks like it is something external to the software but the ICT team in my organisation could not find out a reason behind.
The links under Resources work fine, but not the ones in the slides.
I am a bit in a hurry as I need to publish a file for an onine training that we are starting very soon so I hope you can assist me shortly.
What isn't working with the links on the slides? Where are you testing and viewing the published output? You'll want to confirm you're testing as described here.
I have all links placed correctly in my presentation and after publishing, when I hover over a link, I see that the cursor changes into a hand but when I click each of the links nothing opens.
I do publish it and test it as stated in the tutorial. We do not use any LMS systems, therefore I just publish it into our shared drive and intranet (Sharepoint 2013). I open the story.html from the shared drive and as stated above links won't play. I try story_html5 but it has always seemed to be unsupported by our browsers since it doesn't visualize some of the images (also links don't work anyway). When testing from Sharepoint 2013, I open story.swf because it is the only file that opens the file. In Sharepoint 2010 I used to pen the story.html too.
We changed from Sharepoint 2010 to Sharepoint 2013 recently. All worked fine in Sharepoint 2010 and I am not sure I have tested any links since the upgrade. Do you think there could be some issue there?
Do you publish locally and then upload to your server? Are you publishing for web or CD/local source? You'll want to confirm that you're first publishing locally and then for the intended environment. Additionally you could look at testing it in another web server such as the ones mentioned here, as that'll help you determine if it's an issue with Sharepoint.
I do publish first locally and then on the web server.
My problem is kind of solved now. The ICT team disabled the safety option of automatically downloading html files when trying to open them online. Therefore I can launch the story.html on the web and the links work well. I also leaned that when playing the story.swf the web server doesn not understand the hyperlinks in the file.
However, on the local server, the links still do not work when launching story.html. Do you know why?
One more question, under Resources, can also email addresses be added or only URLs or file locations? I tried to add email addresses but the "https://" is added automatically before the "mailto:".

Hi Amaia,
Testing the published content locally may encounter various network or browser security issues, so it's not recommended.
I don't believe the Resource tab can include an email functionality, but you could look at including it with Javascript on the slide itself.
