Three tests in one course

Feb 12, 2018

Hi everyone!

There is a course in which I need to include three different tests. Should I make three result slides to report? Or I can make only one result slide to report and set it up for three different tests? I need a report in LMS.

I will be grateful for any help.

Hi Daria!  You ask a great question, and the beauty of Storyline is that you could accomplish your goal in more than one way!

  • Include three sets of quiz questions, and use a single results slide at the end that tallies the score for all questions.  This option is fine if you don't need to provide your learners with a score after each set.
  • Include a results slide after each set of questions, and create a final results slide that tracks the first three.  Your learners will get a score for each set of questions, and the final results slide will send your learning management system the final score.

When publishing, you will choose a single results slide to report to your LMS, so tracking either all the questions, or all the results slides will be a design decision.

Let me know how you make out!

Hi Crystal! Thank you very much for your reply.

learners first choose one of three paths. Then they would be presented with a series of questions that are unique to that path.  The idea is I want them to be marked as complete in my LMS if they pass their specific test, but there are really three tests in the course.

So I have three tests and three results slides. Learners have to pass only one test out of three. How the final results slide give me score in that case?

Hi Daria,

If you were to use a master results slide that would track the other 3 slides, you'd likely use the Combine points from each quiz and set the passing threshold to reflect that. So for example, with three results slides you may want to use a percentage of 33% meaning they pass only one quiz with a 100% score.

You may then be able to customize how that appears in your LMS to not show the percentage score, but the passing/failed set up.
