tick box scoring

I am using two tick boxes and have set a scoring variable with an object trigger on each tick box adding either plus 5 or plus 10 depending on which box is ticked.
So far so good...but if the user changes their mind and ticks the other box they get that score added on as well and if they keep ticking the same box it again keeps racking up the score.
How do i set it so the user can only have one box ticked (but they can change their mind) and it will only score the selected box once? All suggestions appreciated as always

Instead of adding 5 or 10 to the score, try assigning/setting the variable value to 5 or 10, depending on which button is selected. See attached file.
