We are required to time all of our courses. Because some of them are 30 hours long a user will not complete the course in one session. This means we have to be able to have the accumulate a users hours over several online sessions. I am hearing that if we have a javascript between Storyline and our LMS that the javascript should be able to capture their total hours. Before we commit to Storyline we need reassurance that timing is possible. Are there any solutions out there?

Total accumulated time is generally the keeper/tracker of time. Javascript can read the current clock, but you'd need to save timestamps elsewhere, like a web server or LMS (on a web server)
Hi Mike,
I'd agree with Brian, that the time accumulated (based on when the user has logged in and out) is handled by the LMS as that is where the user is accessing the course. There may be additional ideas within Javascript, but I'd first reach out to your LMS team to see what they're able to offer as far as ideas.
Because I have no idea how Storyline works answer me this:
Will it keep track of the total time that a user is in the course? And that means if they enter and exit the LMS multiple times the total time will be for the accumulated time of all of the visits?
We are using Learning Cart but my understanding (and I know very little) is that the LMS has to have something to get the time from
