How do I make sure that students spend a certain amount of time on each slide?? In addition, I need to make sure that they flow through the slides in order. Right now, they can just click to the end without taking the course!
If you have audio on your slides you can set a condition on the Next button trigger that doesn't allow it to advance until the media completes (or the timeline ends).
You'll need to do it for each slide, as the conditions the user needs to me will be different on each slide. This tutorial will walk you through how to set it up.
Thank you for the tutorial you provided but we are still not able to move the slide forward with the next button once the voice stops talking. We set up 2 triggers per the tutorial, the first one being that the user has to listen to the whole voice before it can proceed, and the second one being where the person must click the Next button to move to the next slide. Can you provide any additional examples?
I set up a very basic example here for you. You'll see that a variable is adjusted when the media completes, and then there is a condition on the "jump to next slide" trigger that you can only jump to the next slide when Mediacompletes is equal to true. Would it be possible to share your Storyline file with us? I'm not sure I'm following how you've set up your two triggers.
Your tutorial on how to restrict navigation throughout a Storyline course has been helpful. Step 1 says to "Change the navigation for the Menu to either Restricted or Locked". How do I do that??
Locking or restricting navigation at the menu level will impact all the slides within the menu, and is not scene specific. For further information on how the menu navigation settings can impact your course I would recommend the section within this tutorial.

Thanks! Can I do that globally or do I have to do it on each individual slide??

Hi Eric,
Please shout out with any questions.
Thanks so much!! To be clear, if I Restrict or Lock the Navigation at the Menu level, will that impact ALL of the slides within that Scene??
