Timed Storyline Slides Before Learner Advances

Dec 21, 2015

I have transitioned from Articulate 13 to Storyline and am attempting to create slides that remain on screen until a certain time has lapsed before the learner can hit "Next" to advance to the next slide.  I have experimented with creating a customized button to appear after 5 seconds, however, the learners are still using the player's navigation buttons to advance.  Is there a possible way to utilize the standard navigation buttons within Storyline but have it only appear after a desired time has passed?  Any suggestions, tips, or resources would be much appreciated!

Hi, Noel -- Thanks for reaching out with your question! Have you had an opportunity to review this information on How to Temporarily Disable or Hide Navigation Buttons? This is a great option if you want to disable or hide the player navigation buttons until learners have finished interacting with a slide by adding a trigger to change the state of the previous, next, or submit button. Choose from normal, disabled, and hidden states.

Please review the article in full and let us know if you had something different in mind or if that will work! :)
