Timeline end - move to a new layer

Hi
I am new to Storyline and finding it a fantastic tool.
One issue I am having however is when trying to create a specific layer.
I am creating 2 layers, both supplying information one after another, with no Next to click, which then move after to another slide.
I have added a trigger on the base layer to move to the next layer when the timeline ends, then on the next layer to move to next slide when the timeline ends.
My issue is that when previewing the full course, it displays the fist layer, but then jumps to the next slide without displaying the second layer.
Has anyone come across this before and can anyone help please.
Many thanks
Chris

Hi Chris - welcome to Heroes!
I think the issue you have is because as you say "I have added a trigger on the base layer to move to the next layer when the timeline ends, then on the next layer to move to next slide when the timeline ends."
It sounds like the trigger on layer 1 is set to jump to the next slide when the timeline ends rather than show layer 2? I have put together a VERY rough demo of how I think you want your slide(s) to behave but let me know if I have misunderstood your issue and you need any further help.
Antony
Great
Thank you
Chris
Hi Chris and welcome to Heroes!
I'm glad that Antony was able to help you out here! If you need anything else please let us know.
Hi
After reviewing again, I am still having the same issue.
My actions are:
(Base layer - plays audio and displays text) trigger- Show layer 1 when the timeline ends
(Layer 1 - various boxes) triggers- Rectangle 1 show layer 2 when the user clicks
Rectangle 2 show layer 2 when the user clicks
Rectangle 3 show layer 3 when the user clicks
Rectangle 4 show layer 4 when the user clicks
However, when the base layer finishes playing, it automatically moves to the next slide.
Can you please help.
Thanks
Chris
Hi Chris,
Is it possible to share the .story file of this slide so that we can take a closer look?
Antony
Hi Chris, like Antony says it would be easier to figure out what is going on if we could see your .story file but in the meantime check to make sure your base layer is not set to advance slide: automatically.
Also try setting the properties on the slide layers to "pause timeline of base layer"
