I used to be able to pause a timeline in a video recording and insert objects at the exact spot on the timeline. Now, every time I pause the video, it shows the beginning slide, not the point where I am at. Articulate is telling me that this is the way it works, but I used to be able to do this. Anyone else having this issue?
Yes, and yes. It still doesn't work. I have done this multiple times. I sent the file to one of your support specialist the other day and he told me that it is not supposed to work that way. I told him, that it did before. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you
I have tested this in Storyline 2, with screen recordings and videos. When pausing the timeline of the video, it does stop at that point, and you can insert images, shapes, etc., and they do appear at that paused spot of the timeline. Have you tried importing the screencast file into a new file? Also, have you tried other screen recordings, and does it happen on all of them?
Also, FYI, when you use the reply function in your email, your email signature will appear in this post. you can click on the edit button to remove this.
You may want to try importing your file into a new file and see if your screen recording will work. Also, you may want to try re recording them in a new file just to weed out any corruption that may have occurred in your file.

Hello Kim,
Can you confirm that you are working locally with your files? Also, have you tried running a repair of your software?
I did run a test and i am able to hit the pause button on the timeline and add objects to the correct spot in the timeline.

Yes, I have tried multiple times and it does this with every file.
Hello Kim,
Can you test the attached file? I just created a screen record and was able to pause it at 3-4 seconds and add a shape in to the correct spot.
I cannot open it.
Are you using Storyline 1 or 2?
2
Kim,
This above file is in Storyline 2. Are you getting an error when opening?
It just will not do anything when I try to open it.
Kim,
I would recommend following the steps here again, and rebooting your computer. There may be something going on with your Storyline.
If you continue to have these issues, you can reach out to the support team again for more assistance.
ok,thank you
I can now open it and it worked.
Thanks for the update Kim and glad Emily got you back on track!
