Timeline issue with seekbar

Hello community...

I set up subtitles for a course video..with that said when I play the video in Preview it plays well starts to finish and subtitles are aligned to the video..but if I use the seekbar and to go back in the video and play the it gets very misaligned...basically doesn't follow my timeline as I placed them..this only occurs if I scrub to go back or forward in using the seekbar...

What is occurring here and how can I fix this?  My concern is if someone wants to got back and watch a certain part of the video again the subtitles will be out of whack.

Thanks for reaching out here - and as Priyanka mentioned, we're always happy to take a look at your .story file. 

There are some known issues with the seekbar and video syncing elements that our team is investigating and I just provided an update here. It sounds very similar to the issue you mentioned, so we will certainly keep you posted in regards to any updates.

Certainly understand - and if you were able to take a look at the information I shared in the other thread mentioned and it matches what you're experiencing no need to share a copy of your file. Once we have additional information in regards to the seekbar we'll be sure to include in this thread and others that have been tagged for update.

Hi all,

I wanted to provide an update here, as Storyline 2 Update 8 was just released, and included a number of fixes which you can see in the release notes available here. The item you all may be particularly interested in is how it fixed an issue where a video would no longer be synced with the slide's timeline after using the seekbar to scrub back and forth through the video. You can download the latest update here, and after downloading and installing the latest update you’ll want to republish any existing content to ensure that the updates and fixes are applied.
