Timeline Panel Undocked - Not recoverable - Storyline 2

Jan 28, 2016

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but, I undocked my timeline panel so that I could create a larger image to facilitate easier item manipulation. Unfortunately, the panel opened with the top portion of the panel outside my screen viewing area which means I have no access to the panel control button.

I have tried playing with various screen resolutions with no benefit. I de-installed Articulate, removed all the old files, downloaded and reinstalled Articulate 2 and I still have the same issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Gordon

Help I cannot redock the triggers and layers panels. They are in the top left of the screen with part of them off screen, and they are covering the menu so I can't see the command to view/redock. I reinstalled Storyline 2 but still have the same problem, plus I cannot now change the language from chines to English !! Is there a key command to redock panels?

Hi Greg,

There isn't a key command to redock - but are you not able to bring the main Storyline UI to the front, or minimize it a bit so that they don't sit behind the panels to redock them?

Also in some cases, you may find that Articulate Storyline isn't using the interface language you installed. For example, if you installed the English version of Storyline, you may find that it's actually using Chinese when you first launch it.

We're currently investigating this issue. In the meantime, here's how you can correct it:

  1. The first pop-up you see when you launch Storyline is the activation prompt. Click the gray button in the middle of the window (i.e., the free trial button).
  2. Click the first link in the upper left corner of the Storyline start screen to create a new project.
  3. Click the blue tab on the Storyline ribbon (i.e., the File tab).
  4. Click the Storyline Options button at the bottom of the drop-down.
  5. Use the last drop-down on the window that appears to choose your preferred language.
  6. Click the blue button at the bottom of the window (i.e., the OK button).
  7. Click the blue button on the confirmation prompt that appears.
  8. Close Storyline and when you're prompted to save the current project, click the middle button (i.e., the Don't Save button).
  9. Launch Storyline again to see the new interface language.
