Timeline pauses when I'm using lightbox

Nov 01, 2019

Hi,

I have developed a training program using a lightbox to display questions and result pages. I want to send users to the "end page" when they went through the 4 sections. I have 4 variables checking if the users have accessed the last page of each section. I want to use these variables as a condition to send the users to the "end page" of the training program.  But, when I close the last page (from the lightbox), as the timeline is not starting or ending, the trigger is not activated.  I have created an animation loop modifying the value of another variable to use the "Variable changes" trigger but the timeline seems to pause when I close the lightbox so the value doesn't change any more. I'm not able to find a way to achieve this. I tried a lot of things, like adding the trigger to the slide master, but nothing worked. I have prepared a light demo I'm sharing. You will notice that the variable stops changing after you click on 2 buttons opening the slide in a lightbox. I don't understand why it is happening after 2 clicks instead of the first one. We really need to be able to add triggers to the lightbox's close button. Your help we'll be really appreciated.

Some thoughts.

A lightbox is tough to do this with because of what you stated, you cannot add a trigger to the close.  Could you use layers instead of a lightbox, and not allow the user to click the main timeline?

I believe your loop stops because of length of the main timeline it is on.  For example, if you shorten the timeline it will cause the loop to stop quicker.  You could put your animation loop on a separate layer with a really long timeline, then it won't stop and it will go to the end, but it is all dependent on timing, not sure how long the user sits at each lightbox.
