Timer color not showing properly

Mar 29, 2017

Hi there,

I am trying to set my timer color, and no matter what I do in the Player, it doesn't show up correctly in the preview.  Here's a shot of the Player:

And here's what it looks like when I preview the module - the colors are way off:

Any ideas?  I'm using the 360 Storyline, and I don't have this issue in Storyline 2.

Hi Petra

SL2 previews in flash and then you can publish to flash and html5 - that's why you weren't seeing an issue with the change in SL2.

SL360 previews in html5 and then you can publish to html5 with flash. There seems to be an issue with the colour displaying correctly in html5 - that's why I published it and viewed to check both outputs to see if it worked in either.

So to answer your question...depends what output you are publishing to and your users are viewing.  If they are viewing the story.html file - they will see the changed colour, if however they are viewing the story.html_html5 file they won't.

Hello Abdelraheem and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue as well.

I do not have an update to provide on this issue. I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.

This particular issue is only happening in the HTML5 output, so any users viewing the Flash output will not be affected.

You should now be subscribed to this thread so you will get notified of any updates we share here.

Hey folks! I'm happy to let you know that we just released Update 12 for Storyline 360, and you can check out the new features and fixes here!

Specifically included in this version is a fix to address the issue where quiz timers were showing as the wrong color in the HTML5 output. Simply update Storyline to the latest version and republish your project to see the fix. Here's how updating Storyline 360 works.

I'm happy to hear how you make out!

Hi Hans! I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 3 for Storyline 3! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where the timer color didn't update correctly in the HTML5 output.

Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let me know how you make out!

Hi there, Flipfly Support. Thanks for the screen recording. I see that the timer text is not showing in your HTML5 version. When I create a similar sample using the classic player and no other player features enabled, I'm still able to see the timer text.

I notice that you are viewing from your D: drive. Does this same behavior occur if you upload this output to a web environment?

If so, with your permission, I'd like to take a look at your .story file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
