Timline for states

Oct 09, 2020

Need a tip. Can I give a timeline for a state. I want that the object is visible only for a certain time in a special state and then goes back to normal without clicking, ...

Thanks for help.

Hi Garth, Thanks for your tip. I've created a session with a button that changes color, when you hover over (to show, that the object is clickable) and when you click (for next slide) it changes to another color to show that this path was visited.

The hover state disappears, when you hover out. But when the user hovers on and afterwards clicks and than comes back to the slide he doesn't see the visited color, but the hover color. The hover color disappears if the user again hovers over the button, but if not I have visited colors and hover colors on the slide.

My idea was now to set a timeline for the hover state.

Was my description understandable?

It is hard to troubleshoot without seeing your file.

But try this:

Change the Slide Properties for the page with the Buttons to Resume Saved State or Automatically decide.   Do not use Reset to initial state.

That may fix your issue.  If not, then try this:

Think of each button as two objects.  The button itself and a completion indicator.  An object can only be in one state.  You can try disabling the Hover state f the button is in a visited state, but I find the built in state sometime difficult to work with.

Use a second object as a completion indicator (like a checkmark) initially set to Hidden.

Add a trigger to the Buttons slide to change the state of the checkmark to Normal when the timeline starts if Button_1_Topic_Complete = True

Use a variable on the final slide of the jump-to slides to change a T/F variable (Button_1_Topic_Complete) to True

Repeat this using a unique variable for each button and set of slides to be reviewed.
