Toggle Button to View Layer

I'm using some custom buttons on the slide and one of the buttons shows the audio transcript. The transcript appears on a layer and this has its own close button. However I'd like the button that shows the layer to also hide it again - a sort of toggle functionality but I'm struggling to get that to work. Any ideas? Could also work for the menu in the example below.
File attached. Link to a demo slide on Review here too:

Add a selected state, add two triggers show layer if = to selected, hide layer if state not equal to selected
Have a look at this, I made your transition a bit nicer.
I was playing with the selected state but I see your solution uses a timeline pause - I see that quite a bit and must use it more! Thanks so much Phil. You are a true 'Hero'. :-)
Hi John,
I like the sample of your posted project!
I jumped in on a post regarding a custom print button some time ago, and discovered ways to add a show/hide script toggle with fade in the player, using JavaScript. It may or may not be applicable to your particular .story look, but it may inspire you to adapt it to your project.
Hide/Show Script, and Print
Good Luck!
