Tracking individual pages through an LMS?

Mar 20, 2017

Hi there,  I have a client who would like to be able to grab the actual page that a learner is on when they close a course, as opposed to just a completed/incompleted type status. Is this possible? Is there a variable that we can use? Will Storyline newer versions allow us to be able to USE the variables instead of read only? We are also having another issue with a QUIZ tracking incomplete even though the learner scored 100% on a quiz. It is a very low percentage of this happening but would like to know what the possible reason for this could be?

Hi Susan,

That sounds like a cool idea and way to know how much the learner got through! It's not a feature of Storyline currently, but would love to have you share a bit more about what you're looking to see in Storyline in the form of a feature request.

As for the quiz tracking, is it just this a few learners whose showing a status of incomplete after receiving an 100% score? Do you know if they're accessing it through a particular browser or closing the course in a certain way (i.e. exit course trigger vs. just closing the browser)?

Good question about the closing of the quiz Ashley - I am not sure. We are using a custom LMS - I think it is modelled after Moodle - I was thinking it might be an issue with the pass/fail setting on the publish - that maybe they weren't passing the quiz, so it wasn't showing up as complete - but the engineers behind the LMS have looked at the information of the quiz and all questions are answered correctly.

It's a very small percentage of users that this happens too - but it's something we'd like to figure out!
