Tracking issues - One Result slide and two assessments in Storylin 2

Oct 10, 2016

Hi, I need inputs on a specific requirement. The requirement is: There will be two set of questions Set A and Set B(10 question each) in a course. Learners will be asked to take first Set A questions. Upon receiving 80% (which is the passing score), learners should be able to see the score and generate completion certificate. On failing Set A, learners will be taken to Set B. On successful completion of Set B, learners will be given a successful message with their score and on failure, they should see the score and be able to retry the Set B. I understand on publishing, the LMS will take only one Result slide. Therefore, unable to figure out this. Please help.

Hi Shivani!

Hopefully some of your fellow community members will chime in to share what works for them in this situation.

You can certainly set up the multiple quizzes and then have a cumulative result slide of the results. That same article will assist you in letting you set up the ability for your user to re-take a quiz if needed.

As you mentioned, you can only report one to the LMS and if the user is not required to pass both of them, that's where the difficulty comes in as far as determining what the pass percentage now is.

If you do not need to track the actual responses, perhaps you can simply control your set-up with branching and then you can track by a particular slide at the end.

Again, I look forward to what the community has to offer for your design needs.

Thanks Leslie. The requirement is not to get a cumulative score. It is:

There will be two set of questions Set A and Set B(10 question each) in a course. Learners will be asked to take first Set A questions. Upon receiving 80% (which is the passing score), learners should be able to see the score and generate completion certificate. On failing Set A, learners will be taken to Set B. On successful completion of Set B, learners will be given a successful message with their score and on failure, they should see the score and be able to retry the Set B.

see if you can help.

Hello,

I think this should help you. I've tested this on the scorm cloud in both scorm 1.2 and scorm 2004 outputs.

The project is set to track based on slides viewed however, I have added custom javascript on the 2 results slides that sends the score to the lms and if the learner has passed or not.

There are two questions banks. There are only 3 questions in each bank. You can have as many questions as you want in either question bank.

My previous example didn't submit a score if you failed Quiz A. Here is a new example.

Scores are reporting fine in the scorm cloud for me. I failed Quiz A on purpose.

Quiz A Fail

I resumed the course and completed Quiz B. I failed this one on purpose as well.

Quiz B Fail

Again I resumed the course and clicked on Retry Quiz (Quiz B). This time I passed it.

Quiz B Pass
