I need to get analytics at the question level after publishing to our SumTotal (Maestro 5) LMS. I am no SCORM expert but it seems like you need to make edits to the manifesto. Is there a recommended way to publish and get to the level of reporting I have described?
The question data described here is reported to your LMS, so you'll want to publish for LMS as described here and choose the SCORM option that your LMS supports. You'll want to check in with your LMS team regarding where to look for the data and how you'll be able to report on it.
Quickest way to narrow it down - test the course at a site like SCORM Cloud or even the free trial at Articulate Online and see what data you can pull/access. If you can do it at SCORM Cloud, that's an industry standard testing method for SCORM Content, it'll help to provide that information to your LMS team.
Did you test your course out at SCORM Cloud to see how it would behave? Reporting the value of a variable is also a good workaround, but again it'll only work if your LMS can report out on the question types and what the user replied in something like a short answer.

Thanks Ashley,
I have a sneaky feeling I'm going to be running back and forth between Storyline saying it's a LMS issue, and LMS saying it's a Storyline issue :(
Thank you for the additional information... It will help as I start down this rabbit hole
BTW - I am stunned that our designers and developers haven't identified a need for this level of assessment... Different story all together :)
