Tracking students across sessions?
Oct 25, 2012
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how a student could take a review multiple times (say spelling) and each time eliminate the areas where they have achieved mastery so that they are only reviewing areas where they still need work. The obvious way that comes to mind is create a text file on the server recording the questions they get right and then read the text file the next session to create conditionals to skip questions they've mastered. However, given the limits with the Articulate Player for javascript, I'm hoping there is a subtle way to do this that would allow tracking between sessions. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi, Mark -
One of the best / easiest ways to do this is using an LMS to take care of session storage. Short of that, you could setup a custom variable and use JavaScript to exchange data with the server but it's complicated since you'll need some way to tie the user's account to the stored data.
