Only modify text in the column called “Translate this column.” Leave all other text unchanged.
Don't translate result slide variable references, such as %Results.ScorePoints%.
If you change the text formatting in any way (font, size, color, style, alignment, etc), those changes will also be reflected in your project when you import the file back into Storyline.
What is the issue you are having? Is there something that we need to take a look at?
Thanks for the update Nick, just reach back out if you have any more difficulty. Making sure that Word is closed and/or not running in the Task Manager as well is a typical solution.

When you export text from your Storyline content to a Microsoft Word document (*.doc) for translation purposes, be sure the column header text does not get changed. Otherwise, the import process (with the translated text) will fail.

It seems that I have solved this. At the time I had several word docs open but once I shut them down and closed word it worked.
