I would like to know if there is a way that a trigger would be activated depending on what slide the user is coming from or has visited before? For example, on a slide I have 4 buttons and I would like only 3 to show if they have already visited a certain slide. I could put the 3 buttons on a layer and put a trigger to show that layer if / when xxx - what would be that xxx?

On the slide you want to have have learners visit first, you could add a trigger to set a True/False variable to True when timeline starts. Then, on the 'target' slide you could add a trigger to show layer when timeline starts if variable =true.
