I've just updated Articulate Storyline and now when I want to work on a project, the panels on the right hand side of the window - triggers and slide layers - have disappeared and there seems to be no way to get them back. I need to work on some pages urgently. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a solution to it?
Hi Robin, this happens all the time. I've asked Articulate to put in a more obvious way to open and close this panel but so far no luck.
To get the panel back you have to put your mouse on the right (inside) edge of the application as shown in the picture
Your mouse cursor will change to move arrow. Use this cursor to drag the edge back over to the left. It is a little tricky to do so just keep trying. It is easiest to do this at the bottom of the application.
Thanks for answers Nancy. I've tried this without success. I'll keep trying, but all I'm getting is a small hatched area and the move arrow moves but doesn't pick anything up. The weird thing is that when I open old projects the right hand panels have disappeared also.
Has anyone got any other suggestions? I even tried downloading a new version of articulate and clicking on repair but still no change,
Thanks for the update Robin and I'm glad you were able to get it. For anyone else who runs across this thread, here is a Screenr I previously recorded on how to grab it and move it back:
Managed to grab it and get it. You're right Nancy it really isn't that easy.
Thanks for the assistance
Sorry I wasn't following this thread. I'm glad you managed to get it open. I really hope that Articulate addresses this at some point - maybe by adding a clickable arrow to collapse and open the panel. I think every Storyline user has suffered through this at least once.
Sorry to hear you're unable to access your slide layer panel! If going to the View tab, and clicking Redock All Windows doesn't help, try restarting Storyline 360 or even repairing it to see if a fresh copy gets that panel back.

Thank you so much for your reply! I apologize for not updating you all, but I got the same direction from the Articulate Support chat on Friday. Worked perfectly!

Just to be clear. This is what I can see. When I try to drag the side of the screen from the right to enlarge the trigger panel nothing happens.

Hope this helps.
The move arrow will look like this.

Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall? Be sure to reboot after each.
Also, what is your screen DPI? Are you at normal size (96 DPI)? http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/articulate-storyline-dpi-support
This is what it looks like. I can also see the move arrow (which didn't come out on the screen grab)
Thanks
Phew....

what if its just the slide layers part thats missing, cant seem to get it back
Hey Pedro and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
If it's missing, that certainly makes it hard to dock it back in the program, right? I think we can help you out with that.
To redock all panels at the same time, go to the View tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Redock All Windows.
Thanks Leslie - the "Redock" option was a lifesaver!
Glad to hear that Marla :) Thank you for popping in to share.
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Click on "Redock All Windows"
Thank you! Thought I broke it!
I have lost my layer panel, and none of these pieces of advice help me. I can't find it. There is no edge to grab and pull back. Help!
