One of our projects for storyline seems to be corrupt. When you add a button and try to make the button show slide layer __________ when clicked it will freeze when trying to select the slide. I have tried to update storyline to see if it would fix the problem but it did not fix the problem. We have tried it on three different computers to see if it is the program itself but it still does not work. it seems to be the file that is not working. Is there anyway to fix this without having to recreate the storyline project?
If it's the file that's the issue, you may be able to resolve this in a couple of ways. First, make sure that you're working with local project files. If the project files are located on any external source, this may be the cause.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

If you still don't see a change, try to create a new, blank Storyline course. Import the slides from the original course into the new file. For information on how to do this, please see the tutorial below:
Shoot. I was hoping everything worked out for you. Any chance you can share the .STORY file here, so I can take a look? You're also welcome to send it over to us privately, if you prefer.

Let me know how that works out, Nicole.
Thanks!
All the above are true so I will try to import to see if this fixes the issue
Thanks
Nicole
Ok when I tried to import the file it gets stuck on the loading screen. The importing process works great for any other file. Any suggestions
Thanks,
Nicole
