Trigger Panel Bug?

Mar 04, 2015

Hello out there in eLearning Land!

My team and I are currently developing a gamified eLearns in Articulate Storyline 2, and my developer has encountered an significant issue with the Trigger Panel and I was wondering if anyone else out there had encountered it and knows how to fix it.

Our Developer was working on the project, he's currently dealing with about 30-50 triggers, no small amount.

The trigger panel was working fine (he had undocked it to put on his second screen to allow for better workflow.) Upon closing articulate and reopening it, his trigger panel 'broke'. Please see attachment.

It seems to have truncated his triggers into a tiny little scrolling window that cannot be undone. We have opened the project on other computers and the trigger panel works fine.

Is there some setting that he might have accidentally triggered? Or is a fresh install of Articulate required here?

Any help would be hot! Thanks Internets!

Thanks Wendy, yeah we tried docking and redocking a bunch of times.

Haha Not much of a repair. Throw out your current copy and install a new one. Imagine if this was a car!

We were hoping this wouldn't mean having to uninstall and reinstall, time is money after all, but this might just be one of those times where 'unplugging it and plugging it back in' is the only solution.

Appreciate you taking the time to help though, it's why I love this community!

Hi Toby,

Sorry to hear about the odd behavior with your trigger panel - there is a more involved repair here, so if you're on a time crunch it may be worth going through all those steps instead of doing the first repair and seeing how that goes.

Since you haven't been able to recreate it on another computer, it seems likely it's the current installation of Storyline or the file itself. Did you already check to confirm you're working locally as described here?

Thanks Ashley,

We'll have a poke about. Your link seems pretty indepth, which is good! Not sure if it will be a quicker fix but looks likely to be a longer term solution if the issue continues in the new install. Thanks for the hot link!

All our files are developed locally, haha there would be some serious smacked bottoms if I found one of our developers working over the network.

Thanks!
