Trigger Points

Dec 09, 2012

Please explain how to remove the trigger points on the time line. When I first started the project, I was able to enter and remove them by right mouse clicking and selecting from the drop down list as per on-line training. Now I can only insert triggers by pressing "c" as the drop down list does not select. Also I cannot delete any existing trigger points.

I am a very new user, and love the program, and the way it works so logically

Hi John and welcome to the Heroes community.

Right clicking on a Cue point, and then remove one/all should work, in the way you describe, however...I have spotted the occasional tendency for this not to work, (reported....).

If this happens, just save - close - reopen and you should get the ability back.

Once again, welcome to the Heroes community, and hope to see you around the threads.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for your quick reply and for the welcome to the Heroes community.

I did consider it may be a program fault and in desperation started to save/reboot the SL program which did recover this feature as you have advised.

Actually I have been making notes of the various small problems I have been having on my first project.

Would appreciate any advice on the following. Note: I have checked messages in the forum and cannot find answers to these:

Font type and size in the NOTES file changes when I edit the audio file.

Text box does not link to trigger, when you set the trigger. Have to move it manually. (Pictures do link)

Changes made to the audio file do not update even though it was saved after editing, need to resave the complete file again.
Again linked with the above, the timing of the audio trigger seems different on timeline editor preview, than it is when viewed under "Preview this slide". I had to check all changes under "preview this slide", which makes the process longer.

I must say my file size is huge with 76 slides. (But I have a new 64 bit Win 7 laptop set up for DTP).

Any advice on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

We'd love to take a closer look at the issues you're describing. Would you mind opening a ticket with our support team, and on the second page of that link, you'll have the option to record a screencast replicating the issues you've described.

As for the large file size, Storyline wil compress that after saving and publishing. Can you try that and see if it helps reduce the file size? That's something that will be handled better in our next update.

Thanks for taking the time to let us help explore this further.
