Trigger to Data Entry!!!!!!!!!

Nov 18, 2014

Hi,

I have a data entry box which i want to applied a trigger to show a state. However how can i only show the state when i know the user has entered in the correct data entry. for example; if the user enter in the word "relative" then the state would change, if they enter in the incorrect word an error message displays.

I have attached my code could some please have a look? I don't if you could do this in freemore text entry quiz question.

Hi Nasieba,

It doesn't appear that anything was attached here? If you'd like to share it please use the add attachment button.

As Phil mentioned, you can create a trigger to adjust the state when the variable changes. The variable will be adjusted based on what the user enters when the text entry control loses focus (i.e. the user clicks outside the entry box or presses the enter key).

Hi Nasieba,

Thanks for sharing your file here. I took a look at it and only saw the text entry on slide 1.4 so I added a trigger there to change the state of your "relative" box when the variable TextEntry changes. To see this trigger in action, the control will have to lose focus - meaning the user has to click outside the text entry box or click the "enter" key.

Please let us know if that's not what you were looking for.

Hi, Leslie

Sorry, i forgot to send the file. I want i mean is on the border page, i have three text entry boxes that show a different layer depending on the text entered. However, to see this trigger in action, the control will have to lose focus. Is it possible to see the trigger in action when the user has clicked an enter button.
