Triggers' condition variables getting earased

Mar 06, 2018

Hi,

I'm using SL 3, This bug existed in the past (SL 1 maybe? Did not encounter it for ages) and now it keeps coming back :(

I define conditions on triggers - all seems to work well, and at some point - while working on the file or updating small things - the variables that are defined in the conditions - are erased. without me even editing those slides.

So an elearning is ready, published, and someone gets stuck on a result slide, cause the definition of which layer to show (or where to send them automatically) is not defined.
Or I re-define it, do something else - oops it is gone...

Other features\changes are saved and do not get undone.

Hi Efrat,

Did you duplicate these triggers or slides while you were creating the project? I've seen something similar occur, and Storyline will initially list the value from the previous/slide or trigger but if you go to edit the trigger you'll see it's actually empty. Can you let me know if that sounds like what you're running into?

Hi Efrat,

Have you looked to see if those triggers changed immediately upon closing your file? What about right after publishing?

Have you also checked the best practices here too? I know that not following those can contribute to some odd behavior overall.

I'd be happy to take a look at your file, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to replicate it.  Also if you remember where the Storyline1 bug was discussed or if you had a case about it, can you share that info with me? That would help me track it down and I can use that to test in Storyline 3!
