Triggers misfiring since update

Jun 22, 2018

I started work on a new system simulation course at the start of the week, and had it pretty much nailed before the update kicked in.

I'm using a cue point on the base layer, with a trigger that brings up an info layer. The info layer is set to pause the base layer, and has a button that hides it when pressed.

The timeline then continues on the base layer, with a caption pointing to a hotspotted tab. When clicked, the hotspot plays the Screen Recording Action, and there's a trigger to jump to the next slide once that completes.

A pretty standard mechanism that I've used successfully before, which was working until the update went through. Since the update, when I click to close the info layer, the trigger to jump to the next slide activates by itself (i.e. before clicking the hotspot to play the Screen Recording Action).

My home PC last night prompted to update the version I have on there, which fortunately I didn't. I'm going to test the course this evening and see if it works on a version that hasn't been updated. I'll post my findings back here.

I have attached a copy of two of the slides containing the defective layer and would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks

Hi there, Ant.  Just to update you, I reproduced this behavior in my own test file as well.  What appears to be happening is once you click anywhere in the layer, the duration of the video passes, but the video isn't actually playing.  Once the duration passes, the trigger to jump to the next slide fires, as though the media completed.  I tested making base layer items "unclickable" but that had no effect.  The only environment where this isn't happening is in the Flash output.

I've got this information in front of our team, and I'll update you here with any changes.  Thanks for bringing it up!
