Hi, I've been struggling with a trigger not working on video. Have the slide set up to display a button to play video and then jump to the next slide when the video completes. But in preview, the slide jumps when the timeline completes, even though I deleted the trigger to advance to the next slide when the timeline ends. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?
I think my question is: does the timeline length have to match the video length? I thought if I set the jump to when the media completes I wouldn't have to do that.
Great topic!! I don't understand how you were able to insert a 43 second video and have it show up as less time in the timeline. That may have something to do with why things aren't working as expected. I can't replicate the problem bringing the video into a separate project.
Thanks for sharing your file! I jumped into the slide with the video and was able to play and view until the media ended, so I'm not able to replicate your issue. It looks good to me!
As a best practice, I would recommend extending the length of the timeline to the end of the video. This will keep the seekbar in line so as not to confuse the learner. You could do this by pausing the timeline when the Play button appears and resume timeline when the user clicks to view the video.
This is currently the default behavior of the Timeline when adding an MP4 file to a slide. There is an option to ensure the slide continues playing until the video ends. To do this, you will want to right-click the video in the timeline and check Show Until End:
This will allow a video to continue playing even if the Timeline is shorter than the video. Please let us know if you have any other questions! 😄

Would you please share your slide or at a minimum a picture of the trigger panel?
Sorry, I thought I had uploaded this

Please attach the .story file, not the published version.
This is a work in progress.... just FYI

Thanks! I appreciate the input. I'll extend the timeline.
So another question I have is why embedded video doesn't add a hard extension to the timeline with way audio does. Am I doing something wrong?

Got it! That's so helpful, thanks!
