I'm trying to add / edit a slide which has audio playing and various layers showing when the timeline reaches <time>. For some reason Storyline2 wont let me manully add time that is greater than 1000 seconds.
I can add the time value through the trigger wizard but it returns to 1000 if the value inputted is greater than 1000.
I was able to see the same issue when a timeline is over 1000 seconds. I will go ahead and report this to our QA team to see if it by design, or a bug. I will post here when i have any information to share.
This discussion is a bit older - could you share a bit more about what you'd like to have happen and let us know what version of Storyline you're using?
There is an option to execute a trigger when the timeline reaches a particular time, so you could set it to execute at 1000 seconds. You can't tell it to execute at say 1000 and 1001, and so on.
I want to make the time = to a number greater than 1000, but when I type in that time (say, 1001 seconds) and close the trigger, it automatically resets to 1000. I can't make it go any higher.
Ah, thanks for clarifying Articulate1, I can see the same thing that you're describing now. That is something we have filed as a bug, so I'll keep you posted on that issue here.
While there currently isn't a way to insert a value greater than 1000 seconds in a trigger, thanks for letting us know you have a need for that. The community may have some ideas for alternatives, so I'll leave it in their hands!
I know use several Cuepoints on a timeline that is 3600 seconds long. The triggers are connected to the Cuepoints. But - developing with Timeline-based actions is very time consuming and confusing!
It is a standard in other animation programs that you can program time-based actions centrally. Articulate should definitely introduce this to be able to program longer applications quickly.
I don't know if I'm missing something, but I created a trigger to show a layer when the timeline reaches (I did both a cue point and a time) and the trigger isn't working. I'm using Storyline 360. I created the layer and then created the trigger to show the layer, as I want to use the base layer audio file for both layers. HELP!! Why is this not working??
I know this thread is quite old but I am also having this issue. I have a trigger to change the state of an object when the timeline reaches 21 seconds. I have tried this as both a time trigger and a cue point trigger and neither work. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong?

Think that may be a bug or by design, have you tried using a cue point instead

Hello Chris,
This has been reported to the QA team as a bug. i will post here when there are any updates.
Along the same line, I just can't get this basic trigger to work. I tried setting the action to use Cue rather than Time, but it still wont work.
Using Storyline II.
Hello Chadi,
You would need to use the dropdown under time, and select Cue point for this trigger to work.
Hi Chadi! Are you able to recreate this issue in a new file or are you having difficulty across files.
I'm not having any issue setting up a similar scenario if you'd like to take a look. It's a very rough example :)
The issue is project specific. Not sure if it's conversion related. Thank you for the mockup. I was also able to get it to work in a new project.
Thanks for the update Chadi! Glad that you were able to get it to work.
Hi! I am having the same problem.
Is there any way I can set a trigger "when timeline reaches" over 1000 seconds, without making markers?

I'm using version storyline 3. I want to use the trigger do <action> when <timeline reaches> a time after 1000.

Here's what that trigger looks like:

I need also a Trigger >1000 seconds. Not able to insert - any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Amy,
Sorry to hear that the trigger isn't working correctly for you! Did you create the trigger in the slide layer, or on the base layer?

Hi,
I know this thread is quite old but I am also having this issue. I have a trigger to change the state of an object when the timeline reaches 21 seconds. I have tried this as both a time trigger and a cue point trigger and neither work. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong?
Hi, Candice. Let's troubleshoot this together!
First, I'm having trouble recreating the problem in Storyline 360 Update 48. The state of the object changes at 21 seconds. Here's the trigger I used:
