Trouble setting variables to set as complete

May 24, 2018

I'm having trouble setting the variables.

I need the buttons change state as visited if the user keeps pressing next. I want slide 1.5 creating content buttons to set to visited, once the user has gone through all the videos when pressing next? Does that make sense?

Let me know what I'm doing wrong or if I have missed a step as I can't for the life of me get it to work.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there, GCDigitech.  Thanks for sharing your file!  I noticed a couple of trigger issues that I modified which seemed to help:

  • Trigger Order:  It matters! Especially when you have triggers to jump to another slide, you will want to put all other triggers above the jump trigger to make sure they'll fire.  Otherwise, the slide will jump, and the rest of the triggers in the list become null.

I moved the trigger to change the variable on each of the 3 video slides up above the trigger to jump.

  • Slide Triggers:  Somehow, the triggers to change the state of those rectangles to Visited were associated to the timeline of the object and not the slide.  The object timelines don't start over when you resume on a slide, but the slide timeline does.  So I deleted those triggers, and just created new ones based on the timeline of the slide:

Let me know how this version works for you!

Hello,

Many thanks for editing this! Much appreciated.

The only issue is that the 2nd states don't show up as visited, when clicking between 1st and 2nd videos.

For example, When you click from 'Assignment Settings' to 'Submitting Stream video'  - 'Submitting Stream video' does not show the state of being visited.

Thanks,
