"Try mode steps" not working in LMS

Nov 01, 2012

Hi there,

We have created a screencast recording and inserted it into a story as step by step slides - Try mode steps.  When we preview it in storyline it responds when the learner interacts with the simulation and advances to the next slide.  When we publish to web it gives us the same expected results however when we publish to LMS, when the learner gets to the first simulated interaction and clicks as indicated, there is no reaction from the interface other than the display of expected 'incorrect' notification when the learner doesn't select the correct area of the hotspot on the slide.

We have contacted our LMS provider who has completed some testing with other browsers, but thinks it could be something with how these hot spots work in Articulate Storyline.

Does anyone have some advice to get the simulated interaction on "try slides" working in an LMS?

Thanks,

Kirsten

Hi Kirsten,

Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the confusion - I guess I read your email too quickly.  Actually, my ICT support person isn't here today but I believe she ran a debug log last week on this.  I have attached what I think is the debug log on this course.  Would you mind taking a look as we have already sent the issue to our LMS provider and they have indicated to me that there is nothing in the LMS player that prevents it from working.

Thanks,

Kirsten
