my client has a previous articulate file that they want me to extract audio from to put into a new file. however the files that they currently have seem to be the content from a published presentation, not an original articulate file.
I need to send these docs - some are .swf files, html files, etc. - to someone to let me know if there is any way to salvage the audio from them. can someone help me?
Did you mean to attach an image here? I'm not seeing an attachment. Please be sure that you are popping in the forums to add attachments/images as replying to the e-mail will not allow the attachments to come through.
The files you're looking for are in the data\swf folder. You can find utilities on the Internet that will export .wav or .mp3 files from the .swf files.
Angela - looks like we were referencing different versions :)
I did want to mention that your signature has been included here, which can happen when you reply via e-mail. You are welcome to pop in and edit if needed.
Evidently I am getting some kind of coding error when I try to convert
Do yu have any idea what that is about:
error Converter error: SWF compressed file detected . tb9.swf: could not find codec parameters
Articulate Presenter SWFs beginning with "tb" are static images only (no audio). These contain the thumbnail images that appear in the sidebar when you have the Thumbnails tab activated.
In general, the only SWFs that you should need to convert (that is, those containing audio) will begin with the word "slide" followed by a number.

Hi Angela!
You should be able to see a story_content folder and the audio will be located there.
This is a screen capture of folders. No story

When I tried slide1.swf got this info:
error Converter error: It seems that your input file does not contain any audio.
Maybe the first slide doesn't contain any audio. Have you confirmed there is audio on that slide by playing the published output?
