Two quizzes

Mar 26, 2020

Hi, I'm really struggling here, and I've read so many threads and tried testing so much stuff, it's starting to drive me round the bend. I've got two quizzes, the user needs to take one of them only. I want this result sent to the elms.

So, I've created results screens the user doesn't see for each quiz, tracking questions answered, and a master results screen that tracks results screens. This seems to work. Except I only get half the score I need. five questions per quiz and a pass score of 80%.  when it goes to the master, this shows as 50, and I can set the pass score to 40% and all is well. User's however don't want a 40% or 50% score, they want an 80% or 100% score on the LMS.

Is there a simple way to double the score being reported to the master slide, so that this can be sent to the LMS accurately? If I double the score given to each correct question, would that do it? Can I get it to report 200% ?

I see this has been a question posed by a lot of folk over the years... surely there is a need here that you're not meeting over there in Articulate land? There's got to be a way to tell Storyline to give the eLMS the right result... is there?

Hi Paul,

I'm really sorry you're running into issues trying to figure out how to correctly score a results slide when you have two possible branches to score from, and I appreciate you sharing your experience.

We do have a feature request for the ability to track results on a branching quiz, and I will be sure to add what you've shared here in that report!

In the meantime, I'd like to help and share an alternative that a user came up with a while ago and see if it may help. Instead of focusing on the result slide, this community member offered up using layers to show the content of the question based on the branch selection. This example may work for you as you have the same number of questions on each quiz.

The file he used was in an older version, so I've upgraded and attached it here for you to jump in and play around with. I hope this helps!

I am having the same issue Paul.  I have spent a lot of time reading threads and watching tutorials (which only cover the results slide basics) and am still confused.  I have two quizzes, one for each job type.  So users will only ever complete one quiz.  Due to the complexity of the roles, one has more questions than the other.  So I am trying to set up a hidden Master results slide, but am struggling to work out the percentage for a pass, but also don't really want them getting 40% on the report.

I know that this is something you are looking at implementing a fix for, but there is no indication of how far away that may be?

Can I suggest a Webinar is hosted on suggestions for overcoming this issue in the mean time?

Hi Amanda!

I'm really sorry for the trouble! You're right we are building a fix that we can't wait to get out the door! Right now, we aren't sharing a public release date but this discussion will be updated as soon as we release the feature.

I appreciate the idea of a webinar! I don't see any webinars or tutorials from community members, but I have found a number of discussions that I link below.

Hi Everyone,

I have great news to share with you today! We've implemented a new feature that allows for expanded tracking abilities within your Storyline 360 courses. You can read about it in the release notes here! You'll now be able to utilize:

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback on how it works!
