Hi, I am trying to format some layouts on the Slide Master. I've created some shapes that I would like to insert various text when it's chosen from the layouts, but when I choose the layout for a new slide I am unable to type inside of the shape. I can not even select the shape either. Anyone have any insight? I hope I'm being clear.Thanks.
You have to go to the very first slide .. Master master slide.. so to speak.
Otherwise.. you can put the shape and data entry in the other sub-master slide as well.
There are various master slides.. so if you put it on the very top most and first slide.. then that will show on the rest of the master slides but to edit..you have to edit where you placed it.

Hi Aidreen,
You can insert a "data entry" for text on top of the shape. This way, it becomes typable.
Hope this helps,
Donna
I did that, but is there a way to edit in side the shape. Why can't you select the shape when the layout is chosen?

As Donna says, the shapes are not selectable you need to add a text entry field in the master
