It doesn't look like I can apply those steps to a software simulation..at least not a Try Scene. I'm not really trying to quiz, and the existing slides are already freeform. Thanks for the suggestion, Simon! Let me know if your colleagues have any additional advice!

Yes, you can do that. I haven't done it personally (yet), but some of my colleagues have.
It looks like you can do it in one of two ways:
Either way, you can provide a number of acceptable answers (handy for alternate spellings or to accommodate caps/no-caps)

You can insert a software recording in Try Mode, which also allows for typing in of text. See some info here.
