After recording my screen and inserting slides as a Try It exercise, Storyline froze. I closed the program and now every time I open that Storyline file I get an Unhandled Exception error message. Any other Storyline file opens appropriately. What can I do to try to save the contents in that file as I have a week's worth of work in it?
You may want to try importing the existing project into a new Storyline file, and if you see the error again, I would try importing scene by scene to see if there is one problematic scene that you may need to recreate.
You'll want to confirm that you're adhering the the following guidelines for working within Storyline:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

I was able to import the Storyline file that was inaccessable. Thank you so much for saving me from rework!
Was there anything that I may have done to cause the problem? I would like to prevent it from happening in the future.

I'd also recommend implementing a back up method, as Storyline does not save automatically.
