UI_AdminFormTitle pop up box error in Storyline 1

May 20, 2015

Hi,

May I know anybody or is it only me experiencing this pop up when opening Storyline 1 program. It doesn't allow me to activate my serial number either.

After I clicked on the UI_Close button, it states that my serial number is not valid and when I clicked OK and clicked Cancel, it automatically closes my program.

Pop up error

Hi,

I have tried repairing > problem still the same. Unistall the whole thing > reboot > reinstall storyline 1 > problem still the same.

So I tried right clicked on the default storyline program "run as adminsitrator", it does not pop up anymore. But my other saved storyline files does not have the "run as administrator" when I right-clicked it. And thus, I tried to open the default program first then only open my saved files. It works fine.

But once I close the files and open again as normal way, the error pop up still appearing. And I have to repeat the right-clicked method on default program and it is requesting me to activate the serial number again each time i repeat this action.

I find it frustrating and time-consuming. Please HELP!!

Thanks and regards,

Emalyn

Hi Emalyn,

The .story files should be able to be opened normally - not with the "run as administrator" as that is not an option for the individual files but the program as a whole. Storyline needs to be installed by an administrator, but not necessarily activated as one.  Can you confirm that you were logged in as an administrator to install it?

If you're still having difficulty it may be best to troubleshoot this directly with our support team.

Hi Ashley,

I'm the administrator and I had tried to run as administrator too when installing the program. But the problem still stays.

I have been using storyline for 2 years now and were fine until recently this UI_Admin thing pop up. I notice most people have issue after the new update system in Windows 8 but I'm using Windows 7. Could it be related to the Windows 7 system update as well?

Hi Emalyn,

I remember a previous issue detailed here when upgrading to Windows 8.1 as you mentioned, but I don't know of a similar set up in Windows 7. I'm assuming your Windows 7 update occurred recently? You could try the same method as that Windows 8.1 article, or if you'd like we're also happy to take a deeper look at your system and settings. Can you follow up with our Support engineers here?
