I have been struggling to add a trigger to show my next layer. I am not sure if there are hidden triggers which could be clashing with the trigger I am trying to add, although I've clicked on every action and cannot see any triggers. I add the action in the Trigger section and nothing appears under Triggers. Please assist.
It's hard to diagnose what the issue could be without seeing it in context. Any way you might be able to share the .story file? Or at least a screenshot showing your current triggers?
I'm assuming you've tried this but what happens when you click on the small white paper icon above the word 'Slide' in the sidebar to the right of the main window? Does a trigger dialogue window open? If not then I'd suggest you submit your file for Articulate to take a look at, as I've never come across the trigger dialogue being 'disabled'...
Hi Greg and Leslie, yes I do click on the white 'page' and I can add a Trigger but the instruction is not added after I click OK. This only happens on my second and third layer.
I just figured it out! If you do not have 'next' and 'previous' buttons set on your properties then you cannot add a Trigger to 'show your layer once the user clicks on the 'next' button.

Hi Candice! Looks like Greg is trying to assist you here, but I wanted to pop in and welcome you to E-Learning Heroes
Hi Greg
Thanks for the welcome Lesley.
Hi Greg, I've inserted a screenshot and the Trigger menu to the right does not add any Triggers:

I agree Greg, neither have I.
Candice, this is the icon that Greg is referring to:
