Unable to Change Video in Editor - Storyline 3

May 05, 2020

I recently made changes to a lesson that included 30+ videos (downloaded from Vyond). Part of these changes included needing to replace many of the videos with shorter versions. After making the updates in Vyond, I attempted to use the Change Video option in the video editor. When saving the editor after choosing my file, I received an error (attached). I received the same error message for all videos throughout the course. I assumed it was just a corrupt file and replaced the videos manually.

Today, a colleague had the same issue with a different file he created. Is there a known issue or fix for this?

(We both are using Vyond videos downloaded in 1080p.)

Hi there, Mary!

So sorry to hear you and your teammate are facing this error. I haven't seen similar reports, but I'm happy to investigate!

First, a few basic ideas and questions to help us find a fix:

  • Working on a shared drive can cause unresponsiveness. Let's make sure that every project file lives on a local drive.
  • Try these steps to install a fresh copy of Storyline 3.

After trying those two suggestions, let me know if you and your teammate see an improvement!
