I know there were previous issues with this button in Storyline 1, however i have not seen this yet in Storyline 2. I just tested a file and the undo button did work as expected. I checked for moving objects, as well as undoing triggers. You can also hover over the button to see what the undo action will be.
Is there something specific that was not undoing in your file? Can you share the file here for us to take a look?

I had this happen, but closing the file and reopening seems to have fixed it.
