I was looking for feedback on whether or not to use a Unrestricted or Restricted Menu Flow. I think the learner should have control over their learning and pace.
That's a "material" based decision. Some material requires sequential absorption, other material is not so needy. There are equally important times to use one or the other.
The fact that you are thinking about it means you're doing the necessary process.
You can also leave the menu hidden, many users won't even open the side menu.
