Hello! I am working with slides with layers and when I preview/publish my project, the layers dim the base layer objects unexpectedly. It was working fine this morning and I don't believe I changed any settings that would be causing this, but I'm not sure. Can someone please take a look at my file and tell me if I'm missing something or if this is a glitch in the program?
By default, layers use the "blank" layout of the chosen Feedback Master. Your Feedback Master has the background filled with semi-transparent white. That's what's dimming the base layer.
To fix this, just remove the fill from the background of the "blank" Feedback layout. This is done via the Format Background window. You can access that in the Background Styles dropdown on the Feedback Master tab.
You're welcome! I went through the same frustration a few years ago. It's one of those "didn't know about that before" moments. But, now that you know, you'll never forget -- and maybe one day you'll provide the answer to someone else in the forum.
Have you checked the fill properties on the current layer and the feedback master? Is there a shape on the feedback master instead? If no to all can you share a slide?

OMG thank you so much!!! I knew it had to be something like that but I couldn't find it. You're a lifesaver!

Thanks so much, Judy! What a simple solution to such a frustrating problem! Worked perfectly!
This was driving me nuts! Thank you for the solution!
THANK YOU!! You are a sanity-saver!
Many Thanks!
Glad to know it helps! FYI: Here's a post that describes multiple situations/issues that involve dimming:
Thanks again for the extra info!
I have the exact problem, but this solution isn't solving the problem because they are already set to No Fill. Any help?
are they still dimmed when you preview?
Yes, it shows in preview as well.
Have you checked the fill properties on the current layer and the feedback master? Is there a shape on the feedback master instead? If no to all can you share a slide?
If you're referring to the suggestions above, then yes, I've done that. There is no shape on the masters, and they are set to No Fill.
It is now also not showing when I preview it so I'm not sure what's going on. It's a file I haven't worked on in months so maybe it's corrupted?
Can you share a file? If not you can raise a support ticket, difficult to see why without seeing the slide.
I have client information on it, so I'll get a ticket. Thanks for attempting to help me here.
Hi, Benjamin!
I see you've connected with my teammate, Darrell, in a support case. We'll continue the conversation there!
